Epcot’s annual festival returns for 90 days of fun!
Epcot’s famous International Flower & Garden Festival is back for 2019, with live music, fantastic food and fabulous flowers…
If you’re a Disney superfan, you’ll probably be familiar with Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. This annual festival is a celebration of nature with incredible floral and topiary displays inspired by some of your favourite Disney characters. That’s not all though, there’s also lots of tasty food to try, live music from world-famous artists, exclusive merchandise and ‘how-to’ exhibits.
The International Flower & Garden Festival will be running from 6th March through to the 3rd June, so if you’re visiting during this time, make sure you check it out. What’s even better, is that admission to the festival is completely free with your Epcot tickets!
Make sure you’ve got your camera at the ready as there are so many picture-perfect scenes that you’ll want to capture. As you make your way through the park, you’ll spot impressive topiaries that are designed to look like iconic Disney characters. Look out for Anna & Elsa in the Norway Pavilion, Beauty & the Beast in the France Pavilion, Lady and the Tramp in the Italy Pavilion and Mickey & Minnie Mouse in the American Adventure Pavilion. There are lots more characters to see, so why not see how many you can find during your visit?
Another highlight of Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival has to be the food. You’ll find a host of outdoor kitchens throughout the park, boasting mouth-watering menus full of tasty dishes from all over the world. You’ll want to visit on an empty stomach as there’s so much to try!
Some of the things we’ve got on our must-try list this year are the crispy citrus chicken with orange aioli (The Citrus Blossom), shredded beef brisket with smoked potato and chorizo fondue (THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews) and the beef tenderloin with mushroom bordelaise sauce, whipped potatoes and garden vegetables (Northern Bloom).
Save some room for dessert too because there’s a sweet walnut honey baklava at the Taste of Marrakesh kitchen, violet blueberry vanilla croissant doughnuts at Taste Track and a delicious Key Lime Tart at the Florida Fresh Kiosk.
Once you’ve sampled the culinary delights, head over to the American Gardens Theatre. This is where you’ll be able to enjoy the Garden Rocks Concert Series and it’s the perfect place to end the day. Every night (for 90 nights straight!) famous musical acts will take to the stage for an unforgettable performance and this is free with your Epcot tickets too! This year, there will be more than 270 concerts in total, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to see the stars.
The 2019 International Flower & Garden Festival will see acts like Sister Sledge, The Spinners, Lonestar, Night Ranger, Starship and Ambrosia perform at the park.
If you’re interested in horticulture, you’ll also want to spend some time exploring impressive exhibits like the Bamboo Garden, Bonsai Collection and the Floating Mini-Gardens.
