Day 1 - Disney World as a First Timer

Ok so that's a little white lie, I did visit Walt Disney World when I was six but I remember very little from that time and now that I am 24 I actually think I am even more excited! Proof indeed that Disney World really is a magical place no matter what age you are.

I am a 24 year marketing professional working for Orlando Ticket Deals in London. This means that every now and then I am lucky enough to be given the opportunity to travel to Orlando. This allows me to get all the breaking news and inside scoop straight from the parks and seek out the latest top tips on how to make our customers' Sunshine State experience the best it can possibly be.

I travelled with a group of colleagues to Orlando International for 5 full glorious days at Disney World and I am not even ashamed to admit I couldn't resist watching this advert the evening before I left and I recommend that you do too (it gets the excitable butterflies in your stomach going)

Day 1

As soon as we touched down in Orlando we jumped in to our Mears coach service from the airport which took us all straight to our hotel, Disney's Yacht Club resort in about 45 minutes.

I didn't know what to expect from this hotel but I had only heard good things before I left and I certainly wasn't disappointed! I felt instantly welcome from the moment I stepped off the bus with hotel staff eager to help me and get me checked in with as little ease as possible.

When I made it to my room it was beautiful and spacious, complete with a relaxed sailing theme and a touch of our pal Mickey Mouse hiding subtly throughout of course. We all had a quick change and headed straight off to Disney’s Boardwalk for dinner at the Kouzzina by Cat Cora.

I had no preconceived ideas about this restaurant before I turned up but I quickly gathered that this evening we would be indulging in Mediterranean cuisine. The vibe was very welcoming and this was further enhanced by the open kitchen style which made for a lively dining experience. Service was exceptional and we were served an array of yummy food throughout the evening.

Top Tip: If you like fish then make sure you pick the Fisherman’s Stew for a real seafood treat!

By the time we had finished our meal the entire group had been up for almost 24 hours and so it was off to bed for everyone before we tackled day 2 in the magical land where all dreams come true.
