It will be Universal Orlando’s fourth theme park…
Universal Orlando revealed plans for a huge fourth park this week, which will be called Epic Universe.
A huge announcement took place this week in the theme park, coming from entertainment giants Universal Orlando.
At a press conference on August 1st, the company revealed plans for a massive fourth park, which will be called Epic Universe. Now, speculation has been surrounding the addition of another park for quite some time. Universal actually purchased 540 acres of land in nearby Orange County, but it plans of what will be done with have been kept under wraps, until now.
That doesn’t mean that theme-park enthusiasts weren’t trying to take a guess about the outcome, though. Fans and journalists delved into property records to look for clues, and leaked documents supposedly suggested the name for the potential theme park, with many believing it would be called ‘Fantastic Worlds’.
However, all was revealed at a press conference on Thursday, where Chairman and CEO Tom Williams unveiled concept art and a name for the much awaited attraction - Epic Universe.
He emphasised the benefit that the park will bring to the area, highlighting that it will create thousands of new jobs and everyone will be paid a living wage of $15ph.
In terms of the park itself, unsurprisingly, very little else was revealed. Williams did say that “[Epic Universe] will build on everything we have done and become the most immersive and innovative theme park we have ever created”, claiming their vision is “historic.”
What we do know, however, is that it’s going to be much more than a traditional theme park. An entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants, and much more are going to be inside Epic Universe. And as you can see from the map, it’s going to be the largest of the parks by a long way.
We’re looking forward to seeing what else it involves.
