There are a whole host of Halloween events in Orlando that people can enjoy and here we take you through the best in the city and the rest of Florida.

Orlando may be known as the theme park capital of the world, but this month it will be known as the Halloween capital of the world.

Incredibly there will be more than 130 Halloween theme park event nights as well as a whole host of other Halloween parties and proceedings taking place across the city.

Families with Walt Disney world tickets and passes can enjoy the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, whilst adults can “enjoy” the terrifying Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Halloween fun awaits visitors at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place.

Kids and adults can dress up in Halloween costumes and go trick or treating, watch the spooktacular Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Show, see the Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, listen to the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet and enjoy the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular show.

Visitors can also meet many of their favourite Disney characters and some will even be dressed in their own special Halloween costumes. Or, if the kids fancy partying with some of their favourite television and movie characters, then the Scream-o-Ween Dance Party is the place to be.

Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 26 

The Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 26 is spine-chilling, as visitors step right into the most horrifying moments in film and television history.

Expect to see mutants, monsters and maniacs and those brave enough to explore the petrifying haunted houses will have to try and make their way through streets where creatures and zombies are lurking.

Some of the attractions that visitors can visit at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights 26 event include:

  • American Horror story – Visitors can relive every scene in a terrifying house.
  • The Walking Dead – Visitors will come face-to-face with zombies wanting blood and will have to try and stay alive just like all your favourite characters from the award-winning series.
  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre – Relive every kill, every bone-chilling rev of the chain saw from this classic horror movie.
  • The Exorcist – If you couldn’t sleep after watching this film then you may have a few sleepless nights ahead as you go inside the mind of a tormented girl that has been possessed.
  • Krampus –St. Nicholas’ evil counterpart and his band of Dark Minions try to claim the souls of the faithless one-by-one.

SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular

SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular

The Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld is a family-friendly Halloween event, offering a range of great spooky shows.

During the day, visitors with Seaworld Orlando tickets to the park can take part in a load of sea-themed arts and crafts activities. Benefit from up-close animal encounters and go trick-or-treating by following the specially created Halloween Spooktacular pathways to different stations that are full of sweets and treats.

A Petrified Forest 

A Petrified Forest brings the demented back to life, with two frightening outdoor scare trails that are the biggest and best ones yet.

Visitors can relive their childhood fears when all those storybook fables that you used to be told before bed are revealed as being a lie.

Be prepared to get scared witless with monsters under the bed, the darkest and scariest tales explained and a demented dream land explained.

As well as the two outdoor scare trails, A Petrified Forest also has live music and lots of Halloween treats for visitors to tuck into.

Some of the bands visitors can listen to include rock cover band CaerBannog, Gary Lazer Eyes and acoustic band Martyrs Asylum.

Legoland Florida's Brick or Treat

The much-loved Brick or Treat family-focused event at Legoland has returned, with a range of activities available for visitors to enjoy.

Certainly one of the best Halloween events in Orlando for children, visitors can get a photo with the world’s largest Lego pumpkin and a 13-foot-long Vampire Hearse that has been made from 280,000 Lego and Duplo bricks.

Kids can take part in a costume contest and everyone can follow the brick or treat trail to go trick or treating.

According to Inside the Magic, visitors will enjoy the spider-themed fireworks that take place at the end of the day and can enjoy a complimentary pair of viewing glasses to add a twist to the awesome display.

Other Halloween attractions and events in Florida

There are also a number of amazing Halloween events available across Florida that visitors can enjoy and here are just some of them.

Scream-A-Geddon

Just outside of Tampa Bay, Scream-A-Geddon has six spine-chilling events, including two interactive attractions that visitors can immerse themselves in.

If you dare you can enter the Blackpool Prison, an interactive attraction where the worst of the worst criminals were imprisoned, but following a blackout they control the prison and the only way to get out is through them. The new attraction for 2016 really is interactive as guests can be held back, grabbed, separated from their group and sent into hidden cells.

Another terrifying experience that visitors can try at Scream-A-Geddon is the Infected experience. You will be tasked with finding out what has happened to a special government containment team who were sent to a town that had been hit by a meteorite. Beware, as the locals have been acting peculiar since the meteorite hit, so try to control your terror as you make your way through fields, a farmhouse and military tents. 

There are lots of other frightening experiences that visitors can enjoy including the Cursed Hayride, Dead Woods and Bedlam in 3D.

Fright Nights 

In West Palm Beach at the South Florida Fairgrounds, visitors can head to what is regarded as the premier haunted house attraction in the region.

Full of scares, the South Florida Fairgrounds’ Fright Nights has four haunted houses, scare zones, theme park rides, escape rooms and lots more.

The haunted houses include:

  • The Doll Factory - Maniacal porcelain demons are being created for distribution and you have to explore this frightening factory.
  • The Void - The Dry Fork Mines closed in 1954 after hundreds of miners lost their lives following an explosion, but after plans to reopen them were put forward a team of miners and scientists were sent down the mines to check their safety. They never returned and now you have to recover them – dead or alive.
  • Sunnyville Schoolhouse – This spine tingling experience sees visitors explore an abandoned school where the eerie laughter of children still haunts the hallways.
  • Pestilence – The reign of Nosferatu is set to begin and you are about to experience the terror that will unfold.

Blood Moore Manor Haunted House

Terror! On the Lake presents Blood Moore Manor Haunted House, which can be explored by visitors of all ages.

The house, located in Clermont, was owned by a local psychiatrist and as a result of bizarre events, many locals believe the house is haunted.

Two people have died in the house, both falling down the grand staircase, and today people say that you can still hear ghostly moans and screams from this very staircase.

Some visitors have even seen real ghosts peering from one of the second-story windows.
