Our Guide to Discovery Cove Tickets
With your Discovery Cove tickets, you can see, hear and touch a world of amazing things as your senses literally discover a new world of experiences. From swimming with dolphins, snorkelling through colourful clouds of tropical fish and wading with friendly stingrays.
The dolphin swim is the centrepiece of your visit; here you'll spend 30 minutes, in groups of no more than 6-8, getting to know your dolphin through hugs, kisses and ultimately, a one-on-one swim together through the lagoon. Then, you have the rest of the day at your leisure to soak up the unique, indulgent atmosphere. Come face-to-face with sharks (safely housed behind glass partitions!) in the Tropical Reef. Wade with friendly stingrays and then discover the Explorer's Aviary, just beyond the towering waterfalls, where you can hand-feed tropical birds. Relax in the refreshing waters of the Resort Pool and float along the Wind-away River. Or dive into The Grand Reef and explore grottos filled with thousands of species of fish, rays and sharks.
Freshwater Oasis is an all-new attraction featuring wading adventures and face-to-face encounters with playful otters and curious marmosets. Designed with a rainforest canopy above and sparkling-clear springs below, Freshwater Oasis is a natural fit within Discovery Cove’s tropical atmosphere. Guests can relax, explore and swim in the water-filled trails. No matter where they turn, they will find endless discoveries.
As a reservation only experience, which is limited to a capacity of about 1000 guests a day, it's a rare opportunity to set your own pace. Offered on an all-inclusive basis with breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks included, nothing is going to tax you…

There is a choice of two Discovery Cove Packages. You must be at least 6 years old to swim with dolphins. The Non-Dolphin Swim option includes everything detailed with the exception of the dolphin swim.

Trainer For A Day
Indulge your love for animals like never before with this one-of-kind Discovery Cove experience. Get to know the dolphins even better as a Trainer for a Day. It's an all-inclusive Discovery Cove day with some exciting extras:

SeaVenture at Discovery Cove
Those looking to get more once-in-a-lifetime experiences from their day at Discovery Cove can join SeaVenture, an innovative underwater adventure. Wearing a specially designed dive helmet, walk through the Grand Reef and get up-close to gentle rays, tropical fish, unique sea creatures and even (safely housed behind massive panoramic windows!). This ticket must be purchased in conjunction with a Discovery Cove Package.

Dolphin Lagoon
Minimum Age - 6
The dolphin swim experience is the centrepiece of your visit. Begin with an introduction to these beautiful animals and then with one of the trainers, head down to the Dolphin Lagoon in groups of no more than ten into the shallow waters to start your dolphin swim experience. Meet and play with a dolphin for 30 minutes, getting to know each other through hugs, kisses, rubdowns before a one-on-one swim together.

The Grand Reef
Immerse yourself in waters teeming with sea life… where thousands of exotic fish and rays await you. Everyone is invited to wade, swim or snorkel freely through this vibrant reef. Safely share the water with exotic eels, lionfish and sharks. Explore water-side trails and bridges to one of the reef’s many islands.

Explorer’s Aviary
Just beyond a spectacular waterfall, you’ll find a series of towering Aviaries. Here, you can soak in all of the sights and sounds as you encounter hundreds of tropical birds nose-to-beak while they feed right out of your hand.

Wind-away River
Discover what lies ahead along the deep blues and lush greens of this winding river. Here you’ll find cascading waterfalls, a secluded lagoon, hidden grottos, and a pathway to the Explorer’s Aviary.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to reserve a date to visit Discovery Cove or is it possible to leave my Discovery Cove ticket open?
Discovery Cove is a reservations only experience and attendance is restricted to 1000 visitors per day. You must therefore book your visit date in advance to secure your places. Please see our availability calendar for available dates. Dates in green are available; dates in red are currently sold out.
Do I need to be an experienced swimmer to visit Discovery Cove?
You do not need to be a strong swimmer to enjoy Discovery Cove. Life vests are provided where needed and you do not need to go out of your depth.
Are there any age restrictions for Discovery Cove?
No, Discovery Cove welcomes guests of all ages, although you must be at least 6 years old to participate in the Dolphin Swim programme. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Infants 0-2 years enter free of charge and do not require a ticket.
How long is the Dolphin Swim programme?
The dolphin swim session comprises a thirty minute introduction with the trainers and a thirty minute session in the water (in groups of no more than 6-8 and 2 trainers) with the dolphins. This will be followed by a 30 minute debrief for any questions.
What time should I arrive at Discovery Cove?
Discovery Cove opens at 9.00am and closes at 5.30pm. You can check-in from 8.00am and it is recommended you arrive early so you can enjoy a full day at Discovery Cove. Dolphin swim times are allocated on arrival.
Can I use the SeaWorld®, Busch Gardens® or Aquatica portion of my Discovery Cove package before I visit Discovery Cove?
Yes, this part of your ticket can be used before you visit Discovery Cove and similarly after you have visited Discovery Cove. This portion of the package is activated the first time you visit one of the parks.
Terms and Conditions
- Discovery is a reservation only experience and you must choose the date you wish to visit at the time of booking.
- Children must be at least 6 years old to swim with the dolphins. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult to gain entry to Discovery Cove.
- You will be issued with a Discovery Cove booking confirmation which you have to present upon arrival at Discovery Cove. Discovery Cove no-longer issue hard tickets
- Children between 6-12 years old participating in the dolphin swim experience must be accompanied by an adult who also is participating in the dolphin swim experience. There is no minimum adult to child ration, so one adult can accompany more than one child.
- Visits to SeaWorld® Orlando, Aquatica™ and Busch Gardens® may be taken before or after your visit to Discovery Cove.
- All bookings for Discovery Cove are subject to 100% cancellation fees within 30 days of your booked visit. There can be no refunds for amendments (for example to change from Swim to Non Swim) or cancellations within this period.
- In order to ensure everyone's safety, participants must be able to comprehend safety-instructions in English.
